DescriptionSailor style sheath dress in natural linen with navy blue sailor collar, short sleeves, self belt, and red silk faille tie in large bow
Label Text:The “sailor suit” look of early women’s active attire (at left) became a recurring motif in fashionable, summer sportswear during the mid-20th century. For this dress, Norman Norell exaggerated the decorative and feminine qualities of the uniform by enlarging the necktie, forming it into a bow, and rendering it in a luxurious silk faille.
