Label Text:Mila Schön's work focused on purity of line, rather than embroidery or ornamentation, to enhance its beauty. In this dress and coat set, concentric circles in complementary shades of blue have been inset into the coat instead of being appliquéd onto it. In this way, the circles become an integral part of the fabric and give the design a smooth finish. They also make a strong graphic statement that alludes to the popularity of op-art in the 1960s.
