Label Text:The term “blazer” derives from the blazing red jackets worn exclusively by members of the rowing team at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, in 1825. During the twentieth century, the blazer entered “Ivy style” dressing in America, as both uniform and fashion garment. Bright colors and patches identify the school and class of the wearer.
