Label Text:Yves Saint Laurent opened his own couture house in 1961, shortly after presenting the cutting-edge, Beatnik-inspired collection at Dior that led to his dismissal. Under his own name, Saint Laurent was free to experiment with more avant-garde designs. Yet he also
created clothing that appealed to a more traditional clientele, such as this elegant ensemble.
