Label Text:​Rei Kawakubo created this suit by artfully manipulating its pattern, making each rosette integral to the design. Suggestive of withering blooms, the rosettes depart from traditional depictions of flowers as feminine and sensual. Kawakubo is known for challenging long-held notions of beauty and gender, and her fall 2013 collection was inspired by the men’s tailoring of Saville Row.
