Label Text:Yves Saint Laurent began experimenting with military elements during the mid-1960s. The dark blue, double-breasted coat quickly became one of his signature styles. Originally inspired by the naval “peacoat” worn by sailors to keep warm, the recognizable dark blue coat punctuated by gold-tone buttons has become a fixture of fashionable wardrobes.
