Label Text:In 1999, Tom Ford showed ripped, distressed, and embellished jeans as part of his spring Gucci collection. Ford was inspired by the way hippies personalized denim during the 1960s, but these are luxury jeans, not protest wear, and cost up to $3,800. More shocking was that the first shipment sold out even before it reached the stores.
