Label Text:Rodarte chose an x-ray print of a ribcage for this dress on the right in order to give it a “dark undercurrent.” Such imagery directly translated Rodarte’s aesthetic to its line for Target in a way that could be inexpensively mass-produced. Target’s “Design for All” collaborations allow designers to reach a wider demographic at an affordable price. The dress to the left is also by Rodarte, Spring 2010. (2010.65.1)
