DescriptionSleeveless fuxico evening gown comprised of hand sewn tan and ivory silk overlapping and interconnected circular pieces of fabric gathered at the center to create a rosette (in Brazil this technique is called Fuxico) and increasing in size from neckline to hem, fitted dress with modified sweetheart neckline and flared skirt with detachable train.
Label Text:Carlos Miele collaborated with the Coopa-Rocha collective in his native country of Brazil, providing employment to female artisans and helping to preserve traditional crafts. Fuxico is the Portuguese word for “gossip,” but it is also used to refer to the intricate rosettes, seen here, that are hand-stitched by a circle of women who converse as they work.
