DescriptionBlue and grey knit day ensemble consisting of top, cardigan, beret and scarf in grey wool with navy blue and turquoise Art Deco wedge motifs, and coordinating navy wool crepe gored skirt.
Label Text:This sportswear ensemble exemplifies the casual, active daywear that was fashionable in the 1920s. In imitation of knitted wool jersey, the sweater-like components were made using mechanized chain-stitch embroidery on a net backing. Although machine-made, it was produced by the same method used to hand-embellish the elaborate beaded evening dresses of the same period.
