DescriptionMan's Stringfellows hat and condom in light brown charcoal wool felt with tarnished brass zipper across top of high crown opening to a pouch like bag compartment with wrapped NYC condom inside, black grosgrain ribbon trim as hat band and brim edge and knotted tabs at each zipper edge, hot pink synthetic satin with gold printed logo label in crown pocket and hat lining, purple grosgrain ribbon at inside edge
Label Text:This hat by Rod Keenan has a pocket on the crown that contained a foil-wrapped condom when it arrived at the museum. The unusual placement of the zipper and contrasting materials are surprising choices for a bowler hat. The subversion of this traditional item of men’s fashion is underscored by the hot pink satin lining.
