DescriptionSleeveless fitted evening dress of light brown satin back crepe with decorative self fabric art deco-style piecing at bodice creating illusion of v-shape dropped waist and slightly flared skirt with pleated godet panels at CF and CB from thigh to hem and smaller godets at R and L side: scoop neckline at front; deep v-neckline at back; hanging tiered panel at CB waist.
Label Text:The intricately pleated panels of Jane Régny’s evening dress invite viewers to take a closer look at the design—and thus the wearer. Nude-toned silk fabrics were especially popular for evening gowns in the 1930s, and when combined with the sensual drape of the bias cut, these dresses almost seem to be extensions of the skin.
