Label Text:Women’s Wear Daily named Byron Lars “Rookie of the Year” in 1991, but his inventive clothing and engaging runway presentations were far from amateur. The fashion press widely lauded the designer’s fall 1993 “Metropolitan Heidi” collection (inspired by a trip to Austria) for its charmingly madcap take on the classic children’s story.
