DescriptionEnsemble; double-breasted jacket in black burlap of rayon / cotton / wool blend with moiré front belt; short sleeve tent dress in tan linen with large-scale Ottoman tulip pattern woven in deep red velvet, and appliqué hem band embroidered with metallic threads, cords and beads on brown mesh, referencing the mound of germinating earth depicted under the Indian Tree of Life; brown leather stacked heel pumps.
Label Text:The Belgian designer Dries van Noten has been profoundly influenced by non-Western aesthetics, which he identifies with a new way of seeing. Exoticism, he says, “is generally associated with different countries. But for me, it is rather everything that reroutes us from the ordinary.”
