Label Text:“Appropriationist” artist Mike Bidlo used Jackson Pollock’s “splatter” painting technique to decorate this suit. Bidlo is known for creating exact replicas of paintings by Picasso, Matisse, Warhol, and Duchamp. His 1982 exhibition featuring reproductions of Pollock’s drip paintings generated much debate about the originality of Bidlo’s work.
